OFSTED is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. OFSTED inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages. OFSTED carry out inspections in all schools, colleges and academies. Hampton Lakes Primary School had its first OFSTED inspection in March 2024.

Ofsted Inspection 26 and 27 March 2024

Hampton Lakes Primary School was visited by an inspection team from Ofsted on 26 and 27 March 2024 and have now received the official report. We can confirm that the rating for the school from our first full inspection is GOOD.

The inspection was a thorough, rigorous process which took place in school over two full days.  The judgement was arrived at through a combination of the following: an initial detailed conversation between the lead inspector and senior leaders, observations of teaching, scrutiny of curriculum documentation, reviewing pupils’ work, extended professional conversations with staff and leaders, discussions with groups of children, review of parent, staff and pupil questionnaires, discussions and evidence from governors and trustees and consideration of achievement and attainment including phonics and KS1 results from 2023.

We believe that the findings are reflective of the rapid growth of the school and are very much aligned with the school and trust’s self-evaluation of the school.  We are pleased with the many strengths of the school that were recognised.  These include:

  • Pupils enjoy coming to school, they know they are well cared for and valued, in return they are kind and respectful
  • The school have quickly established a well-crafted curriculum and all staff understand the curriculum and how to deliver it
  • Children are being taught the key knowledge they need to know, at the right time and can remember it
  • The school offers a range of clubs and trips to broaden pupils’ experiences, this includes making good use of curriculum enrichment at the feeder secondary school
  • Successful adjustments are made to activities and provision so pupils with SEND engage well with learning
  • The school has quickly and effectively established clear learning routines and expectations which pupils follow from the outset.
